Super Fuerte
The Super Fuerte turned out to be a somewhat confusing cigar experience for me.
Based on the promotional write-up, I expected a rich, creamy smoke layered with chocolate notes and buttery smooth complexity. The descriptions painted the picture of a flavorful, medium-to-full-bodied cigar with plenty of richness and character.
Unfortunately, that was not really what I experienced.
From the first draw, the cigar came across extremely mild — far milder than its “Super Fuerte” name would suggest. In fact, the flavor profile was so restrained that at times it almost felt nonexistent. I kept waiting for the cigar to open up and reveal the creamy richness and chocolate notes promised in the description, but those flavors never truly materialized for my palate.
The draw also remained fairly tight throughout the smoke, which likely contributed to some of the muted flavor delivery. While not impossible to smoke, it definitely required more effort than I prefer and prevented the cigar from producing the rich, effortless smoke I had anticipated.
That said, the cigar was not entirely without redeeming qualities.
Despite the lack of flavor, it was undeniably smooth. There was no harshness, bitterness, or roughness anywhere in the smoke, and the wrapper itself felt exceptionally soft and pleasant on the lips and tongue — something cigar smokers often appreciate but rarely mention enough. The overall smoking experience remained gentle and refined, even if the flavor profile itself felt disappointingly subdued.
So while the Super Fuerte failed to deliver the richness and complexity advertised, it did at least succeed as a very smooth, mellow, easygoing cigar.
Unfortunately, smooth alone is usually not enough for me when I am hoping for flavor.
