Tuna Casserole
Tuna Casserole Recipe

12 oz 12 egg noodles
2 cans 2 tuna, drained
1 can 1 cream of mushroom soup
1 can 1 cream of celery soup
1 cup 1 milk
1 can 1 peas
1-1/2 cup 1-1/2 shredded chedder cheese
1/2 cup 1/2 diced onions
1 tbsp 1 garlic powder
1/2 tspn 1/2 black pepper
1/2 tspn 1/2 salt, optional
1 tbsp 1 butter
- TOPPING:
1 cup 1 Ritz crackers, breadcrumbs, or potato chips
2 tablespoons 2 melted butter
1/4 cup 1/4 shredded cheddar cheese, optional
Directions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F.
- Cook the egg noodles according to the package directions, but keep them slightly firm since they will continue cooking in the oven. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat. Add the diced onion and cook for 3 to 4 minutes, until softened.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, cream of celery soup, milk, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt. Stir until smooth.
- Add the cooked noodles, tuna, peas, sautéed onion, and shredded cheddar cheese. Mix everything together until well combined.
- Pour the mixture into a greased 9x13 baking dish.
- In a small bowl, mix the crushed crackers with melted butter. Sprinkle the topping evenly over the casserole.
- Add a little extra cheddar on top if you want it cheesier.
- Bake uncovered for 25 to 30 minutes, or until hot, bubbly, and golden on top.
- Let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.
- Optional Upgrades
Add sautéed mushrooms for extra flavor, use crushed potato chips for a salty crunchy topping, or stir in a little sour cream to make it richer and creamier.
