Nub
I attended the Studio Tobac Tour at Riverside Cigar Shop and Lounge in Jeffersonville, Indiana, and tried the Nub. The Nub Cameroon cigar is short and has a large ring gauge. Though it was short, it took over an hour to smoke.
I recently attended the Studio Tobac Tour at Riverside Cigar Shop and Lounge and had the opportunity to try the Nub Cameroon — a cigar that definitely stands out because of its unusual size and shape.
Like most cigars in the Nub line, the Cameroon is short and stout with a large ring gauge, designed around the idea that the cigar immediately places you into what many smokers consider the “sweet spot” of flavor without requiring a long buildup. Despite its compact appearance, this little cigar lasted far longer than expected. In fact, it took me well over an hour to finish, which honestly surprised me considering its shorter length.
Construction overall was solid. The tobacco felt tightly packed without compromising the draw, and the cigar burned evenly for most of the experience. Smoke production was good as well, delivering thick, smooth clouds that remained consistent from beginning to end.
Flavor-wise, the profile leaned toward mild-to-medium-bodied, with notes of cedar, light coffee, earth, and subtle natural sweetness drifting in and out throughout the smoke. The Cameroon wrapper added a slightly woody, toasty quality that kept the cigar balanced and approachable without becoming overly bold or spicy.
That said, while the cigar was certainly enjoyable enough, it never quite moved beyond being simply “okay” for my personal palate. Nothing about the smoke was unpleasant, but it didn’t deliver the kind of richness or complexity that would make me rush out to buy more immediately.
At around $5.48, however, it is hard to complain too much. The Nub Cameroon offers respectable construction, decent flavor, and an impressively long smoking time for the price.
Overall, a solid cigar and an enjoyable evening at Riverside — even if the Nub itself did not completely blow me away.
oke. Tobacco was tight, burned evenly, and had a hint of cedar and coffee. Overall, it was okay. $5.48
