Sons of Anarchy
The Sons of Anarchy Redwood Original Moto Club Est. 1967 – Black Crown – Original is definitely a cigar built around attitude and presentation. Dark, bold, and wrapped in biker culture branding, it gives the impression that you are about to light up something powerful and unforgettable.
And to be fair, it does deliver a fairly bold profile.
From the first draw, the cigar released notes of dark tobacco, black pepper, warm spices, and a touch of earthiness that remained consistent throughout most of the smoke. The body leaned medium-to-full with enough strength to keep your attention without becoming overly harsh. There was also a decent finish lingering on the palate after each puff, especially in the retrohale, where the pepper and darker tobacco notes became more pronounced.
Construction overall was respectable. The cigar burned fairly evenly, produced solid smoke output, and maintained a decent draw throughout the experience. Nothing really stood out as problematic from a performance standpoint.
That said, despite all the bold flavors and strong presentation, the overall experience just never fully came together for me.
Everything about the cigar felt… fine. Competent. Smokable. But also somewhat forgettable. The flavors, while bold enough, lacked the depth or complexity needed to truly stand out from countless other medium-to-full-bodied cigars already on the market. It had the personality and branding of a cigar that wanted to be memorable, but in the end, it never moved beyond “meh,” in my opinion.
Not a bad cigar by any means — just not one I would personally go out of my way to revisit.
