Ave Maria
The Ave Maria cigar delivered a smoking experience that felt refined, balanced, and surprisingly elegant from beginning to end.
From the first draw, the cigar offered a rich and creamy profile layered with smooth tobacco, subtle spice, cedar, earth, and just enough sweetness to keep everything beautifully balanced. What impressed me most was how effortlessly the flavors worked together. Nothing dominated the smoke. Instead, each note seemed carefully measured and refined, allowing the cigar’s complexity to unfold gradually over time.
This is not a mild cigar, but it is also far from overpowering. The body sat comfortably in that ideal middle ground where the smoke feels substantial and flavorful without becoming too heavy or harsh. The result was a cigar that remained approachable while still offering enough depth and character to keep experienced smokers engaged.
Construction was excellent as well. The draw remained smooth, the burn stayed even, and the cigar produced thick, creamy smoke that only enhanced the overall experience.
And then there is the band.
Honestly, the cigar band itself is absolutely gorgeous — ornate, detailed, and almost regal in appearance. Ave Maria cigars have always leaned heavily into their medieval-inspired presentation, and this one certainly looked the part. At one point, I jokingly found myself thinking the beautiful band alone may account for half of the cigar’s $6.30 price tag.
Thankfully, the cigar itself was good enough to justify the rest.
Rich, smooth, balanced, and quietly complex, the Ave Maria turned out to be a very enjoyable smoke and one I would happily revisit again.
