Rum Runner
The Rum Runner turned out to be a surprisingly enjoyable little smoke and a perfect example of why it is sometimes worth grabbing a random cigar simply out of curiosity.
I picked this one up while visiting Gatlinburg, Tennessee, mostly on impulse, and I have to say — it was delicious.
From the first light, the cigar delivered a smooth, mild-to-medium-bodied profile infused with warm rum sweetness that remained present throughout the smoke without becoming overpowering or artificial. The flavor leaned rich and mellow, with hints of sweet tobacco, vanilla, toasted sugar, and a subtle oak-like warmth that paired beautifully with the rum infusion.
What I appreciated most was how balanced the cigar felt. Some flavored cigars can overwhelm the palate with syrupy sweetness, but the Rum Runner stayed smooth, flavorful, and surprisingly refined for what is clearly meant to be a relaxing novelty-style smoke.
The smoke itself was creamy and aromatic with an easy draw and pleasant burn, making it the kind of cigar you can casually enjoy while relaxing on vacation, sitting around a fire, or winding down at the end of the evening.
Honestly, this cigar just fit the mood perfectly. Maybe it was Gatlinburg. Maybe it was the mountain air. Or maybe it was simply a genuinely enjoyable cigar. Either way, this rum-infused little treat definitely left a good impression on me.
Delicious.
