Padilla Miami Oscuro Perfecto
The Padilla Miami Oscuro Perfecto delivered a rich, satisfying smoking experience that felt bold, hearty, and wonderfully old-school in character.
From the moment I picked it up, the cigar made an impression. The oscuro wrapper was dark, thick, and almost chewy in texture — the kind of wrapper that immediately hints at deeper, richer flavors to come. Once lit, the cigar opened with a dense, meaty bouquet layered with notes of oak, leather, earth, and subtle traces of cocoa and coffee drifting quietly beneath the surface.
The smoke itself was thick and substantial, coating the palate with rich tobacco flavor while remaining surprisingly smooth throughout the experience. The oak and leather notes formed the cigar’s backbone, giving it a masculine, earthy character, while the touches of cocoa and coffee softened things just enough to create balance and depth.
What I appreciated most was the burn. The cigar burned slowly and evenly from start to finish, allowing plenty of time to settle into the experience and enjoy how the flavors lingered and evolved with each draw. The draw itself remained smooth and consistent, producing plenty of rich smoke without any harshness.
The Perfecto shape also added a nice touch to the overall experience. Cigars in this format often change character slightly as they progress due to the shifting ring gauge, and this one seemed to open up nicely as the smoke developed.
At around $6 a stick, I felt the Padilla Miami Oscuro offered very solid value for the money. Rich flavor, strong construction, and a satisfying medium-to-full-bodied profile made this one a genuinely enjoyable smoke.
Not bad at all.
